Christophe Deslignes
Keyboards and solo instrument
Christophe is the co-founder of Millenarium, artistic director of Rotruenge and enthusiastic leader of the Compagnie Retroencha. Since 1995 he has also given recitals on the organetto (medieval portative organ), which he discovered and taught himself to play while studying medieval music at the Schola Cantorum in Basle. His CD "Les Maîtres de l'organetto florentin au XIVe siècle", a tribute to Francesco Landini recorded in February 1998 with percussionnist Thierry Gomar for the Ricercar label, was declared "CD of the Year" by the French daily Le Monde. Christophe has appeared at many leading European music festivals, including the Wallonia Festival, the Festival van Vlaanderen, Musica Infrequente in Madrid, Saintes, Festival d'Ile-de-France, Lanvellec, Toulouse les orgues, Musica Antiqua Radio Bremen, Tage alter Musik de Herne, Musicometa de Rome and Cantar lontano d'Ancona. He recently directed two major productions, Officium lusorum (a "messe des fous") and the Llibre Vermell (celebrating the Black Virgin of Montserrat), which brought together Le Choeur de Chambre de Namur, Psallentes, la Maîtrise des Pastoureaux and Millenarium.
Christophe studied medieval dance with Andrea Francalanci, Erika Schneiter and Véronique Daniels, and has reconstructed many religious, popular and courtly dances from the 12th–14th centuries. He teaches the organetto, recorder, ensemble music and medieval dance at the Fondation Royaumont, the CNR de Toulouse and the CSNMD de Lyon, as well as in various schools, colleges and non-profit organisations. As a result of a longstanding interest in oral and folk traditions, he has organised an annual summer music and dance workshop at Saint-Bris-le-Vineux since 1997.

Xavier Terrasa
Shawm, bagpipes, pipe and tabor, recorder, flute
Xavier has sung and played wind instruments with the La Maurache - Julien Skowron, ensemble since 1996, recording six CDs for the Arion and Muza labels, and touring in Europe and the USA. In 2004 he formed Joer, an ensemble with which he seeks to reconstruct the sound and repertoire of the minstrels. He has played and recorded with the ensembles Millenarium (CD "Llibre Vermell" - Ricercar), Obsidienne, Amadis and with Les Hautbois d'Henri IV, a reconstruction of a Renaissance oboe ensemble. He also gives demonstrations of instruments at the Musée de la Musique in Paris.
Xavier began his career as a singer and saxophonist in the rock group Khéops (CD "Gloire au silence", Polydor, 1992). He went on to study oboe, specialising in early double-reed instruments with Hervé Barreau. He is currently producing 20 different models: some reconstructions of historic instruments from the 15th-18th centuries and others which he has designed himself. He recently filed a patent for an electro-acoustic amplified recorder.
Philippe was awarded a gold medal for the recorder at the Lille Conservatoire in 1975. He teaches the craft of recorder-making in schools, music schools and conservatoires in France and elsewhere. He won the Departmental and Regional Grand Prix for Craftsmanship in 1991.
